Please be advised that this vacancy may close earlier than stated if we receive a large number of applications.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking enthusiastic Nurses/AHP to join our expanding Trustwide Research Team. Opportunities are available within our Hepatology & Renal, Critical Care, and Neurosurgery & Stroke research teams, as well as across a range of other specialties. The Hepatology & Renal post is offered as a 2-year fixed-term contract, while positions within other specialties are offered on a permanent basis. Experience in critical care, acute care, or clinical research would be particularly advantageous.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering innovative clinical research that helps shape the future of patient care. Working within a supportive and dynamic research environment, you will contribute to the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of commercial and non-commercial studies, providing patients with access to cutting-edge treatments and interventions.

As a Research Nurse, you will lead and coordinate clinical research studies from study set-up through to close-out. Combining your clinical expertise with a passion for research, you will ensure studies are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with national and international standards.

You will work closely with Principal Investigators, multidisciplinary clinical teams, sponsors, the Research & Development department, and regulatory bodies to support the delivery of high-quality research across multiple specialties

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As a Research Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical research studies and trials, helping to bring innovative treatments and interventions to patients. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will support the safe and compliant delivery of research, ensuring studies are conducted in line with study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and regulatory requirements.

You will identify and recruit eligible participants, obtain informed consent, conduct study-related assessments and interventions, and support participants throughout their research journey. You will also maintain accurate study documentation and ensure the quality and integrity of research data.

Our core hours are 8.00 - 18.00, but with the expectation for staff to be flexible to work unsociable hours to cover service needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of clinical research while providing excellent patient-centred care. We are looking for a motivated and organised individual with strong clinical, communication, and IT skills, who can build effective relationships with patients and colleagues, manage competing priorities, and contribute to the continued growth and success of our research programmes.
