The NIHR Royal Surrey Clinical Research Facility has created an exciting, opportunity for a band 5 research nurse. With a specific focus on early phase research, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in research, trial protocols and research methodologies alongside your expert clinical skills. *This is a part-time post (0.8 WTE) funded until March 2029*

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will be working within our purpose built NIHR Royal Surrey Clinical Research Facility and across the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. You will be involved in the planning, set-up and delivery of a broad portfolio of research, providing excellent care for patients as well as collecting and reporting on data to the highest standards as expected for clinical research. Our facility houses an experienced and highly motivated multi-disciplinary team, focused on delivering inpatient and outpatient trials. Every day you will collaborate closely to support, develop and deliver research projects. The role involves using an in-depth knowledge of research methodology and knowledge of the requirements of local, national and international research regulations (e.g., ICH GCP, UK Clinical Trials Regulations).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The role of the Research Nurse at the NIHR Royal Surrey CRF within the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RSCH) involves supporting the planning, set up and delivery of research. Working with multidisciplinary teams to screen patients for research studies, monitor patients during studies, assist with clinical investigations, the collection and documentation of accurate data, as well as contribute to the ongoing clinical and operational standards required of an early phase clinical research facility.
