These are key roles supporting the delivery and growth of research across our newly established Trust. You will work with clinical services to embed research into everyday practice, enabling more patients to access research opportunities and contributing to improved health outcomes.
These posts are funded by the Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN East of England).
Main duties of the job
You will support the delivery of National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Portfolio studies across the Trust, including commercial research, and play an important role in developing a strong and sustainable research culture.
Your work will include:
Supporting clinical teams to identify, set up and deliver research studies
Promoting research opportunities across services
Supporting patient identification, recruitment and follow-up
Ensuring accurate and timely data collection and reporting
Contributing to the development of research-ready services, including those delivering more complex studies such as CTIMPs
Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including the NIHR Research Delivery Network

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will work as part of the Trust Research Team to support the ongoing development of research activity across a wide range of clinical services.
This role offers a varied and rewarding opportunity to:
Work closely with clinical teams to integrate research into routine care
Support the full research pathway, from study set-up through to delivery and follow-up
Carry out study-related activities, including clinical interventions where appropriate, within professional scope and training
Provide advice and guidance to teams who are new to research
Contribute to wider Trust research initiatives and projects
You will work with a wide range of healthcare professionals, so strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships are essential.

Essential
- Good Knowledge of clinical research infrastructure in the UK.
- Understanding of the requirements of ICH Good Clinical Practice
- Good Knowledge of the role of the clinical research facilitator; understanding the issues/process of gaining informed consent
- Experience of project management and delivery of projects in a timely manner
- An understanding of the complexity of service delivery within a community setting
- Experience of working with patients/service users/public
- Accepts responsibility and accountability for own work and can define the responsibilities of others
- Recognises the limits of own authority within the role
Desirable
- Experience of working in an NHS environment
- Experience and understanding of working with the NIHR and RDN
- Experience working in a Community Care setting
- Experience of clinical trial (CTIMP)/Commercial research

Qualifications and Training
Essential
- Educated to degree standard or have relevant and recent research knowledge and experience to equivalent of degree level.
- Evidence of continuous personal, professional development.
Desirable
- Post-graduate qualification e.g. MSc.
- Relevant and recent specialist healthcare knowledge.
- Current clinical professional qualification and registered with a relevant regulatory body e.g. NMC or HCPC.
