Job overview

We require a suitably qualified CT Head Reporting Radiographer to join our team of Reporting Radiographers. We are looking for a self-motivated Radiographer with a CT head reporting qualification and NHS experience to join the team.  You will contribute to the CT Head reporting of images from across the Health Board. The Radiographer will be required to work within the CT area of Glangwili as well. This will be a 50/50 dual role.

You will need to have a flexible approach to the needs of the service, be open to change and able to work independently and within an established team.

The main Radiology departments in Hywel Dda University Health Board are at Glangwili General Hospital in Carmarthen, Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli, Withybush General Hospital in Haverfordwest and Bronglais General Hospital in Aberystwyth.

Main duties of the job

Applicants must be a Registered Health Professional with an appropriate postgraduate qualification. There may be a requirement to work flexible hours to meet service demands, and a flexible work pattern will be considered. Evidence of CPD and audit will be required.

The successful applicant will possess excellent communication / organisational skills, be tactful and diplomatic. You will be involved in the supervision of student radiographers as well as Radiographers undertaking Reporting courses.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a senior Radiographic role with experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Previous NHS experience

Desirable

  • Wide experience of senior radiography / junior management

Language Skills

Desirable

  • Welsh Speaker (Level 1)

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential

  • BSc Radiography (or recognised equivalent)
  • HCPC registration
  • Post graduate qualification in reporting of radiographic images suitable for the role advertised

Desirable

  • PG Diploma/M level module in further imaging modalities
