Are you interested in helping individuals achieve their goals?  An opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Rehabilitation Assistant to join Keswick & Solway ICC up to 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be based in Keswick with the Community Rehabilitation Team.  You will work with patients within both Keswick  Hospital and the local community.

We are looking for a motivated and caring individual, preferably someone who is enthusiastic about rehabilitation, problem solving and self development.   The post involves working as part of a local team as well as  collaborating with other teams and services in the area. The post involves some lone working, which will have been delegated by Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Assistant Practitioners.

Main duties of the job

A Rehabilitation Assistant in a multi-disciplinary team is expected to work with other health and social care professionals to develop the ethos of multi-disciplinary, integrated care and seamless services ensuring that patient care is delivered to the highest possible standard. As a Rehabilitation Assistant reporting to a registered health professional, the post holder will implement rehabilitation plans for patients in the community and other settings, observe the patient’s condition, providing direct care with a rehabilitation and therapy focus.   This may include supporting patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.

The ability to work over 7 days is a requirement of the post. The hours of work will be on a rota covering a shift pattern between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Continuing professional development is actively encouraged and as part of the team you will have the opportunity to take part in the process.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Evidence of ongoing training and personal development.
  • Care Certificate or the willingness and ability to undertake the course. (This is applicable for all non-registered support workers that provide health care).
  • GCSEs in maths and English grade 4 or equivalent or ability to undertake courses.

Desirable

  • QCF level 2 and/or level 3 in Health, Social, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Support, or equivalent.
  • Additional training in rehabilitation or caring for the older person.
