An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and caring Rehabilitation Assistant to join the Harrow Therapy Service.
Based at Stanmore (HA7 1AT), you will work alongside Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to support adults in their own homes and care homes across the London Borough of Harrow. Under the supervision of a registered Allied Health Professional, you will assist in delivering rehabilitation programmes that help patients regain independence, manage long term conditions, and improve their health and wellbeing.
The Harrow Therapy Service is a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team comprising Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Rehabilitation Assistants, and Administrative staff, committed to delivering high quality, patient centred care within the community.
This is a full time position working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, offering an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience within a community rehabilitation setting.
Main duties of the job
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary therapy team delivering community based rehabilitation to patients with a range of physical and long term health conditions under the guidance of qualified therapists.
- Work independently as a lone Rehabilitation Assistant, managing visits safely and effectively within community settings.
- Deliver rehabilitation programmes in patients' own homes and care homes, supporting activities such as mobility, exercise, personal care, and activities of daily living.
- Assist patients to maximise their independence, health, wellbeing, and quality of life.
- Provide both clinical and administrative support to Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists within the team.
- Undertake competency based training and assessments to develop the knowledge and skills required for the role.
- Accurately maintain patient records and report progress, concerns, and outcomes to supervising therapists.
- Work collaboratively with community teams, GPs, social care, care home staff, and voluntary sector organisations to support coordinated patient care and positive outcomes.
- Contribute to the delivery of a high quality, responsive, and patient centred rehabilitation service across Harrow.

Qualifications
Essential
- Higher Professional Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (NVQ/QCF – Level 3)
- A recognised equivalent course
- Willingness to undertake further training as appropriate.
Desirable
- GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths ECDL certificate
- Registration with the national regulatory body (when it becomes available).
- PSI qualification Trusted assessor training

- Demonstrate an acceptable level of numeracy and literacy.
- Knowledge of multiagency services available and processes for referral
- Knowledge of the effects of the ageing process and needs of vulnerable adults in relation to their health and well-being
