Job summary

  • Receive and respond promptly to referrals
  • Undertake specialist psychological assessments and formulate therapy plans
  • Deliver individual and group therapy using evidence-based interventions
  • Manage an allocated caseload within agreed timescales
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, MDT members, and clinical staff
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records, reports, and electronic documentation

Main duties of the job

Clinical & Professional Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist psychological interventions and standard care plans
  • Offer specialist advice, consultation, and guidance to other professionals
  • Exercise autonomous responsibility for assessment, treatment, and discharge
  • Administer psychometric tests and other evidence-based assessments
  • Undertake risk assessment and risk management
  • Provide clinical supervision to an Assistant Psychologist

Requirements

Essential

  • Essential - HCPC registration and Clinical Psychologist registration.

Desirable

  • Priory Hospital Bristol team works with clients with complex mental health problems, including complex emotional needs, psychosis, bipolar affective disorder, recurrent depression and complex PTSD. We are interested in candidates with specialist training in DBT. Additional training in other psychotherapies, such as CBT, CBTp, MBT, CAT, EMDR, and ACT, would be a bonus.
