At LRI vacancies are within Trauma Theatres, and at LGH, vacancies are within Elective Theatres and emergency services, including Orthopaedics, Urology, Gynaecology, Obstetrics and General Surgery, offering exposure to a wide range of planned surgical specialties.

Main duties of the job
- To co-ordinate and provide skilled clinical practise (without direct supervision) to patients, in accordance with responsibilities under NMC/HCPC Code of Conduct.
- To contribute to the continued development of nursing/Operating Department Practitioners(ODPs), including the supervision of junior nurses/ODPs and support staff.
- Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of evidenced-based clinical care to a group of patients.
- Assist and contribute in the management and organisation of a theatre/ clinical area.
- Actively contribute to setting and maintaining high standards of quality nursing/ODP care.
- Actively participate in the education, development and supervision of other staff members.
- Act as a clinical and professional role model, mentoring, assessing and supporting students and learners on placement within the clinical area.
- Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
