At Spire Clare Park Hospital, we're seeking a compassionate and proactive Registered Nurse to join our Pre-Operative Assessment team. You'll play a key role in preparing patients for surgery, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and support before treatment.

For over 35 years, Spire Clare Park Hospital has provided high-quality healthcare services to patients across Surrey and Hampshire. Rated 'Good' by the CQC, the hospital offers a wide range of surgical specialties, including:
- Orthopaedics
- General Surgery
- Ophthalmology
- Cosmetic Surgery

Our facilities include:
- Three operating theatres, including two with laminar flow
- 34 inpatient and day-case beds
- Enhanced Recovery Unit
- Advanced diagnostic services
- Modern outpatient facilities
As a Pre-Assessment Nurse, you'll help ensure patients are clinically prepared and fully informed ahead of their procedure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive pre-operative assessments
- Triaging and assessing patients to ensure suitability for surgery
- Identifying and escalating potential clinical concerns
- Supporting safe, personalised patient care throughout the surgical pathway
- Providing clear information and reassurance to patients and families
- Working collaboratively with consultants, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams
- Contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
We're looking for a nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and thrives in a collaborative environment.
You'll have:
- Current NMC registration with no restrictions on practice
- Previous experience within a Pre-Assessment setting
- Acute healthcare experience
- Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Confidence working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Good IT and electronic patient record skills
Desirable:
- Phlebotomy, venepuncture and ECG competency
- Pre-Operative Assessment Association qualification or training
