The role:

We are seeking highly motivated and passionate Registered Nurses to join the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) at The Royal Alexandra Hospital.

The MAU is a fast-paced, dynamic environment that provides assessment and immediate care for patients referred through GP services with acute medical needs. The unit receives a high turnover of patients requiring initial assessment following referral from primary care.

As a Registered Nurse within the MAU, you will play a key role in assisting with the first assessment of patients, including taking blood samples and performing ECGs, while also delivering high-quality nursing care.

The MAU offers excellent opportunities to develop both general and specialist nursing skills across a broad range of medical conditions. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

Location - The Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley – Medical Assessment Unit (MAU)

Shift pattern - 12-hour shifts, Rotational Days and Nights, Monday - Sunday

Permanent, Full-time

Key responsibilities:

• Provide assessment and immediate care for patients referred through GP services with acute medical needs.
• Assist with the first assessment of patients referred from primary care.
• Take blood samples and perform ECGs.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced assessment environment.
• Support the ongoing assessment and care of clinically unwell patients.
• Work collaboratively within a dynamic multidisciplinary team.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• Opportunity to develop both general and specialist Registered Nurse skills.
