Litlington Ward is a busy acute care of the elderly ward. We are a 28 bedded unit with a multi-disciplinary team working to assess, treat and discharge patients within 5-9days. We are looking for experienced Staff Nurses to join our team you will share your knowledge and experience with the ward; you will need to be well motivated and committed to high standards of patient care and to your personal professional development.
Our patients are admitted acutely unwell but may have multiple medical conditions, may be on multiple medications, may have difficulties with mobility and may also have cognitive impairment. They need our support during the acute phase of their illness and robust discharge planning to ensure a safe transition from the acute setting to their usual place of residence or place of onward care.
Main duties of the job
Whether you are just starting out on your Nursing career, looking for a change of job, working in a Nursing Home or even returning to practice, we would welcome the opportunity to meet with you. Caring for short stay frailty patients ensures a varied role where staff can learn specialty care for those who may have multiple medical conditions, are on multiple medications and are often require specialist support at home or in their care homes. Staff will also support patients who are acutely unwell, may also have poor recognition (dementia & delirium), difficulty in walking, falls and frailty. Skills
Essential
- Ability to carry out a full range of nursing practice
- Basic Life Support
- Competent in drug calculation and use of infusion equipment

- Generic pre-registration experience in a care environment
- An understanding of the NHS
