Our nursing opportunities span a variety of services and clinical settings, supporting children, young people and adults with learning disabilities and a diverse range of needs. Depending on the vacancy, you may work across community services, forensics, specialist learning disability teams, inpatient services or other areas providing person-centred care and support. You will work collaboratively with individuals, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to promote independence, improve health and wellbeing, uphold dignity and ensure that people receive care tailored to their individual needs.

Main duties of the job
As a Registered Learning Disability Nurse, you will deliver safe, person-centred care in partnership with individuals, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Assessing needs, managing caseloads and developing individualised care plans
- Promoting health, wellbeing, independence, dignity and choice
- Supporting access to healthcare and reducing health inequalities
- Delivering evidence-based nursing care and safe medication management
- Coordinating care with families, carers and partner agencies
- Promoting safeguarding, consent and positive risk management
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and complying with NMC standards and Trust policies
- Contributing to quality improvement, service development and multidisciplinary reviews
- Supporting colleagues and students through supervision and knowledge sharing
- Maintaining professional registration, mandatory training and continuing development
