Job summary

If you are a motivated individual, who wishes to be part of a team that supports the Trust in the day-to-day delivery of excellent patient care, you may wish to apply for the post of Receptionist.

The post will be located in the Main Hospital and will be part of a team working for receptions based around outpatients.

Main duties of the job

Use of PC/VDU to:

  • Check, correct and update patient information on EPR system
  • Book outpatient appointment
  • Register Patients
  • Request, action and distribute computer lists as appropriate
  • Record requests for patient information from GPs and other Hospitals/Departments.
  • Use of Case Note Management module to record case note movements around the trust.
  • Provides and receives patient information/data to/from patients, clients, staff, GPs and other hospitals
  • Provides a pulling/location/preparation service for the Trust in regard to case notes
  • Undertake sorting/filing/retrieval of case notes and investigation results
  • Provision of appropriate reproduction service to assist in the release of copy medical records in line with Data Protection Act
  • Use of internal microfilming/archiving service
  • Provide a dedicated reception service for all enquiries both face to face and telephone
  • To undertake Reception duties, Booking of outpatient appointments Booking of Interpreters when required.
