Job overview

The Radiology Department at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust are looking for an enthusiastic, well organised individual, to join our administration team.

As the successful post holder, you will play an integral role in helping the department to provide a responsive imaging service to the hospital and wider healthcare community.

Main duties of the job

  • You will be expected to rotate around the various administrative work areas within the department and will be part of the team that provides administrative support to the Consultants, Service Manager and other departmental Team Leads as required.
  • You must have an understanding of a range of work based computer procedures, the Radiology Information system (RIS) utilises software that is very specific to Radiology.
  • Schedule appointments on the RIS, communicating examination specific instructions to ward staff, patients and other members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).
  • Participate on a weekend rota where the role is unsupervised and will involve an element of chaperoning patients and assisting Radiologists in addition to the normal administrative duties.
  • Must have a working knowledge of medical abbreviations and terminology, to enable appropriate scheduling of specialist imaging examinations.
