Job overview

The Quality and Safety Administrator will provide high-quality administrative support to the Family Care Community Group Quality and Safety Team, ensuring the delivery of a seamless and efficient administrative service across Maternity and Neonatal Services.

Based at Burnley General Hospital, the post holder will support a comprehensive range of administrative duties to support the effective operation of the Care Groups governance, quality and safety agenda. including attendance at meetings, ascribing minutes, and developing reports. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a busy and fast-paced environment.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will play a key role in supporting the effective running of the Family Care and Community Group Quality and Safety team, including:

  • Supporting diary management for the quality and safety team
  • Producing reports and other relevant documents
  • Arranging meetings and circulating agenda's and papers
  • Recording accurate minutes from meetings
  • Demonstrating competence in the use of electronic patient records and any other relevant systems, to pull data
  • To utilise effective communication both within the team and among wider professionals and colleagues
  • To liaise with external agencies to support the wok of the quality and safety team for maternity and neonatal services
  • Undertake and additional duties as appropriate

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This is a varied and rewarding role within the Quality and Safety team that supports maternity and neonatal services. The post holder will be expected to deliver a high standard of administrative support, working both independently and as part of the team, with the ability to prioritise and manage a diverse workload.

The successful candidate will be someone who uses common sense, takes pride in their work, and is willing to learn and develop within a busy and demanding environment. You will be a reliable and hardworking individual, able to use your initiative and respond positively to changing priorities and deadlines.

You will be based within the Family and Community Care Groups divisional offices and will interact with a wide range of people. This includes colleagues and professionals at all levels across the maternity and neonatal services – as well as external partners. The ability to remain professional, approachable, and confident in all interactions is essential.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, discretion, and the ability to deal sensitively with confidential information at all times, in line with Trust expectations.

You will also be expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative processes, using your initiative to support the effective running of the quality and safety and governance processes.
