We are excited to offer a new opportunity for a Public Health Support Worker to join our School Nursing team within Wye Valley NHS Trust. This role plays a vital part in supporting the delivery of key public health programmes for children and families across Herefordshire.
You will contribute to the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP), assist with health promotion activities, and help ensure the smooth delivery of services through a range of administrative and organisational tasks. Main duties of the job
- Undertake and record basic health measurements, including weighing and measuring children as part of the National Childhood Measurement Programme (NCMP).
- Support School Nurses, Staff Nurses and School Nurse Assistants in the delivery of health promotion activities and intervention groups for children and parents.
- Assist in the preparation of delivery of health promotion sessions in schools which includes the arranging of resources for these sessions.
- Maintain high standards of quality in clinical record keeping ensuring information is always recorded accurately, appropriately and kept up to date.
- Participate in team meetings including allocation, supervision and business meetings where appropriate.
- To upload written communication to the child’s electronic patient record this can include police notifications, A&E notifications and other information.
- Support with administrative tasks associated with the National Childhood Measurement (NCMP) including booking sessions with schools and preparing/sending outcome letters
- Co-ordinate health promotion and training sessions with schools which will include booking sessions with schools and the associated admin tasks

- Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously when needed
- Awareness of child protection procedures and policies
