The post holder will work as a Band 7 Project Manager within the Kent and Medway Cancer Alliance, supporting the Cancer Alliance Programme Lead to translate the National Cancer Plan for England into practical local delivery.
This will include supporting the development and delivery of personalised and sustainable cancer care, including personalised care planning, personalised follow-up, supported self-management, rehabilitation and prehabilitation, health and wellbeing, psychosocial support and late effects, with a focus on accessible, integrated and community-based care.
The post holder will focus on reducing unwarranted variation and inequalities, improving access and pathways, and ensuring the voice of people affected by cancer informs service development. They will manage allocated projects autonomously while supporting programme governance, monitoring, evaluation and benefits reporting.

- Provider performance and accountability: Monitor delivery against personalised care priorities, reporting performance, identifying variation and supporting improvement.
- Personalised care improvement: Coordinate the implementation of personalised assessment and care plans, using data to drive uptake and reduce variation.
- Scope supportive oncology and late effects: Map provision and identify gaps of local patient support, care pathways and services.
The post holder will also be responsible for supporting an agreed portfolio of Clinical Reference Groups (CRGs), which are established to lead pathway transformation and service improvement within the relevant cancer tumour group. This will include supporting the chair with oversight of the CRG work programme, ensuring that agreed actions are completed in a timely fashion by action owners, and supporting service improvement initiatives.
Programme strategy, prioritisation, governance and overall outcomes remain the responsibility of the Cancer Alliance Programme Lead.
Responsibilities may change in response to evolving programme priorities and requirements.
