NHS Highland is seeking to appoint a Programme Manager to join the eHealth Department, providing leadership for the Hospitals Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Programme, powered by TrakCare. This is a major clinical transformation programme that will change how NHS Highland operations across all clinical staff and sites.
Phase 1 of the Programme delivered Emergency Department functionality to five hospitals, upgraded TrakCare including the mobile enabled user interface, and transitioned to supplier-hosted arrangements, on schedule. Phase 2 will see the initial implementation of Order Communications for electronic ordering and receiving of results for laboratory and radiology tests. Future phases include expanding the Emergency Department functionality to Minor Injuries Units, rollout of Order Communications across NHS Highland as well as the introduction of electronic observations and digitising paper records. These solutions will streamline workflows, improve clinical collaboration, and ensure timely and accurate communication of critical patient information, supporting informed clinical decision-making.
The postholder will provide expert advice to guide programme development and ensure effective governance. They will demonstrate consistent, inclusive leadership that engages, enables, and empowers others, supported by strong motivation and communication skills. The role requires close collaboration with Project Managers within the eHealth and the Strategy and Transformation Teams, as well as with Heads of clinical services, to support effective programme delivery.
