AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot can be great for planning and preparing your application—but your answers must be your own.
- Show us the real you: Your application should reflect your skills, experience, and motivations authentically.
- Use AI wisely: It’s fine to use AI for ideas or to check spelling and grammar, but don’t let it write your answers.
- Why this matters: Applications that rely on AI-generated content may be withdrawn. By applying, you confirm your responses are based on your own knowledge and achievements.
Tip: Think of AI as a helper, not a substitute. We want to understand you—not an AI tool.
Programme Management Office (PMO) Officer
Strategic Planning | Strategic Change
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Programme Management Office (PMO) Officer to play a key role in supporting the delivery of transformational change across Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership (EHSCP).
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Strategic Change team as we deliver a significant portfolio of programmes and projects that support the ambitions of the EHSCP Strategic Plan. Working across a diverse range of services and stakeholders, you will help ensure that change initiatives are governed effectively, delivered consistently, and demonstrate measurable benefits for the people and communities of Edinburgh.
The PMO Officer will be responsible for developing, maintaining and continuously improving the Programme Management Office framework, ensuring effective governance, assurance and reporting arrangements are embedded across the strategic change portfolio. You will oversee compliance with project and programme management standards, coordinate portfolio reporting, and provide high-quality analysis, assurance and insight to senior leaders, programme boards and governance groups.
Working closely with project and programme managers, you will be a source of Project administration and coordination expertise. The role requires confidence in engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including the ability to escalate risks and issues appropriately, and influence improvements in project delivery standards.
You will take a lead role in collecting and analysing portfolio performance information, developing dashboards and reports, supporting audit readiness, coordinating governance boards, and ensuring accurate monitoring of risks, dependencies, benefits realisation and financial performance across strategic programmes. You will also act as a professional development resource for the project management community, helping to maintain toolkits, share learning, and promote consistent project management practices.
The successful candidate will have experience working within a Programme Management Office, project management or transformation environment, with a strong understanding of governance, assurance and reporting processes. You will possess excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills, be comfortable working autonomously, and have the ability to build effective relationships across complex stakeholder groups. Experience of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 and advanced use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Power BI, would be advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting project and programme delivery, strengthening organisational governance, and supporting the successful implementation of strategic change across health and social care services.
