Job overview

We are looking for an Overseas Assistant to join the Overseas Team in delivering an effective and efficient administration service, working in close liaison with the Private Patient and Overseas Manager and Co-Ordinator in the provision of administration processes to support the Trust’s private patient and overseas visitors’ functions, ensuring effective and efficient administration processes are maintained. There will be an expectation to interface with patients both over the telephone and face to face on general enquires and receipting in documentation.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for communicating with the appropriate individuals, teams and departments within the Trust to ensure the required outcomes are achieved and cover general clerical and administrative duties that facilitate the administrative elements of the entire patient pathway covering:

  • Clear communication
  • Appointing patients and supporting the appointments process
  • Retrieval of medical notes and results
  • Input data into patient/client records
  • Telephone patients

The post holder will have skills in all areas of administrative functions to enable them to support the patient pathway, using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure that functions of the role are carried out correctly within given timescales.
