Providing effective support, maintenance and development to NWAS Telephone Systems (both in and out of office hours), NWAS needs to ensure that the right IT support is available in the Right Place, at the Right Time, Every Time.

As a part of the Trusts infrastructure team, you will be the senior authority on the NWAS telecommunications environment, responsible for the maintenance and management of both the existing telecommunications solutions and future developments.

You will be considered the Subject Matter Expert for the telephony system with ideally at least 10 years maintaining, supporting and deploying Contact Centres. The Trust will offer training on its specific systems.  You will use your highly developed technical knowledge and experience to drive the continual improvement of telephony services to the trust.  You will be the ultimate escalation for all Trust telephony issues, providing advice and guidance to both the ICT Senior Management Team and other Infrastructure engineers.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work with industry leaders and experts to maintain telecommunications systems which meet the needs of our changing digital landscape, assessing business requirements across the Trust and recommending solutions which meet current requirements, whilst future proofing design and maintaining awareness of technology developments and the strategic direction of the trust.  You will be expected to participate in National meetings regarding the future of the Ambulance service Telephony system.

You will ensure that the Telecommunications design incorporates resilience, reliability and sustainability.  You will ensure comprehensive system design and configuration documentation is produced, maintained and controlled throughout the life of the solution.

Regular travel in your own vehicle may be required across the North West and occasionally nationally (subject to Agenda for Change terms and conditions).  We regret we cannot offer sponsorship.  This position will require attending site four times a week as such a full driving license is a requirement.  You will also be placed after a suitable period onto the Trusts On-Call Rota.  Interview will be in person at one of our main sites within the North West.
