We are seeking a passionate clinician to join and support our UKAS accredited team as one of our Principal Paediatric Audiologists. STP graduates are highly welcomed.
The department provides a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitation service for children, covering both secondary and tertiary care.
Predominantly a clinical role, the post will keep you busy with a full range of paediatric assessment and (re) habilitation challenges, together with some delegated service development and/or management responsibilities. This interesting specialist role will involve working with babies, children and families in our family-friendly multi-disciplinary centre.
You should be able to provide evidence based practice in a patient-centred way, and value supporting children and families through the wider patient journey. You will be confident working with children, both autonomously and as a flexible team-member. The role demands enhanced experience of working in paediatric audiology (in both behavioural and electro-physiological assessment as well as re-habilitation)
Main duties of the job
To perform specialist diagnostic audiological procedures and provide a comprehensive specialist hearing aid service to children (newborn to young adulthood), including determining care plans for individual patients, and involving carers and families as appropriate.
To assist with the day-to-day management of the London North West University Healthcare Paediatric Audiology service.
To take an active role in areas of clinical audit, research and clinical governance for the Audiology service, which may include designing and completing audits within own field, participating in data collection for larger projects, and contributing to the development of evidence based protocols.
To plan and prioritise elements of own workload, within the framework of service delivery priorities as defined by the Clinical Lead and Head of Service, and supervise the work of other members of the team as appropriate, including junior audiologists, trainees and students.
To support maintenance of IQIPs accreditation for the service
