We are recruiting a Pre-op Administrator (Band 2) to join our team on a 6 months fixed term contract for 24 hrs per week.
The main purpose of the role is to provide administration support to the pre-op admin team, with a focus on providing an excellent patient experience in all interactions; the post holder will demonstrate attention to detail and organisational skills. The post holder will also provide comprehensive administration support to ensure deadlines are achieved and flow of work is prioritised in order to meet targets and objectives.
Under current Home Office Immigration Rules, this role does not meet the UK Visas and Immigration criteria and the position is not therefore eligible for skilled worker sponsorship. Applications from candidates that require skilled worker sponsorship will NOT be shortlisted.
Main duties of the job
Provide professional and efficient administrative support to the pre-op department.
To liaise with clinical staff to ensure smooth running of clinics and to develop good working practices and relationships with the team.
To provide advice and information to patients regarding their appointments, clinic arrangements etc; resolve queries from patients and relatives in relation to these areas and reassure nervous patients.
To gather and share information as required for the relevant clinical area, either verbally or electronically, which is pertinent to the members of the clinical and non- clinical teams, exercising discretion and confidentiality at all times.
To pass on queries to colleagues within the team ensuring that patients are communicated with in an effective manner.
Ensure that outcomes of pre-op clinics are recorded and directed to relevant staff with full reasons for attendances/cancellations/postponements.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Jobholder will be expected to have good numeracy and literacy skills (e.g. English and Maths GCSE or O Level Grade C or equivalent).
They would need to have proficient computer skills, including data entry and/or Microsoft Office experience and would need an understanding of confidentiality and the use of discretion.
In respect of Knowledge /Experience/Skills we would like the jobholder to have the following:
Recent customer service experience
Administration experience in working in a busy office environment
Excellent Communication skills and interpersonal skills (written and oral)
Ability to work on own initiative
