Main duties of the job

The Practice Nurse Manager is responsible for the leadership, management, and development of the nursing team across our six-site, 22,500-patient practice. The team consists of 6 Practice Nurses, 1 Mental Health Nurse, 2 Nurse Associates, and 8 Healthcare Assistants.

As a senior member of the multidisciplinary team, the post-holder will combine clinical expertise with strong leadership to ensure high-quality, evidence-based nursing services. They will oversee chronic disease management, vaccination programmes, health promotion, policy development, and quality assurance, ensuring safe and effective patient care.

The Practice Nurse Manager will contribute to Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) processes (without holding the IPC Lead role), support clinical governance activities, and work collaboratively with GPs, Managers, and external partners. The post-holder will act as a clinical role model and mentor, supporting the development of the team and helping to embed continuous quality improvement across the organisation.
