Practice Facilitator – maternity leave cover until May 2027

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician to join the practice education team whilst our practice facilitator colleague is on maternity leave

The post will be fixed term secondment until May 2027 and will provide an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner and educator looking to develop more specific education knowledge and skills

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver on key project developments (themed around the Safe Learning Environment Charter) required to enhance the service delivered by our team

Our team is based at Hereford County Hospital but an ability to travel to and work at any WVT locations will be required

We are looking for a highly motivated and clinically experienced healthcare practitioner, with a special interest in education, and sound experience of developing others.

The Practice Education Team includes: pre-reg Midwifery, pre-reg Allied Health Professional, pre-reg Nursing, Resuscitation, HASTE, Preceptorship, Clinical skills, International Nurses Programme and Apprenticeships.

The Practice Facilitator post will require a high level of adaptability to work collaboratively with colleagues within the Practice Education Team and across the Education Team.

Main duties of the job

To work collaboratively with clinical area staff and Practice Education Team to facilitate structured learning in the practice area.

To complete key project developments based on Safe Learning Environment Charter

To promote strategies that maximise the learning experience in order to achieve a supportive learning environment.

Act as a positive role model whilst supporting and teaching learners both in the classroom and in clinical practice.

Person specification

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable significant clinical experience at Band 5 (or equivalent) or above.
  • Broad and current experience of organisation, management and delivery of clinical skills within the NHS.
  • Experience of teaching skills in acute and / or community based practice setting.

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • First level professional qualification, including current NMC/HCPC registration
  • 1st degree in health related subject or equivalent
  • Possession of assessment qualification e.g. Practice Assessor / or equivalent

Desirable

  • Teacher / Trainer Award e.g. PGCert (Teacher) / PGCE or equivalent relevant experience

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Essential

  • Current knowledge of related Assessment Processes for pre and post registration health professions
  • Demonstrates an ability to apply and knowledge of leadership charter
  • Computer literate and able to use a range appropriate packages to develop lessons and deliver education.
