We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Practice Educator to support the growing workforce within the West Wing Clinical Research Centre (WWCRC). This role will lead on education, clinical competency, and workforce development across the unit, supporting staff delivering increasingly complex oncology clinical trials. The successful candidate will coordinate induction and onboarding programmes, deliver teaching and clinical training, support competency assessment, and contribute to improving staff experience, retention, and professional development.
Main duties of the job
A key aspect of the role will be working closely with clinical research teams, pharmacy, and other multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to service delivery across the unit. Applicants should have substantial oncology experience, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a strong interest in education and clinical research. - Demonstrate clinical practice expertise in drug development by working alongside nurses on the WWCRC
- Assess the development needs of staff nurses and with the Ward sister of WWCRC write a professional development plan to enable them to gain clinical competence in cancer setting and increase their awareness of the evidence underpinning practice and how to use it in their daily work.
- Maintaining personal clinical competence, credibility and professional development in line with the NMC requirements
- Participating in the Clinical Education Team meetings
- Participating in interviewing for recruitment activities as required.
- Supporting other members of the Clinical Education team in the development of newly qualified nurses within the Trust

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

- Post registration oncology qualification at degree level

- Proven experience as a clinical trials nurse in the area of drug development
- Experience in supervising/facilitating students in practice
