Are you an experienced Registered Professional with a passion to support the education of learners in practice? NWAS is looking for a Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) to complete a 12 month secondment.

Working to the Consultant Paramedic for Education and with the wider PEF team you will be responsible for ensuring that all learners in practice, practice educators and operational/clinical teams are clearly orientated to the learning in practice requirements of Higher Education Institutes (HEI) programmes. You will primarily support the BSc Paramedic programmes, ensuring that learners in practice are monitored and supported. You will liaise with the Trust’s Partner HEIs to ensure all external learners access high quality clinical placements within NWAS.

Main duties of the job

To be successful in this role, you will be a registered healthcare professional with degree level qualification (or Dip HE with degree top up). You will also hold a credit bearing higher education module (at level 5, 6 or 7) and have extensive experience (post NQP completion) of Practice Education and developing learners in practice as part of educational placements.

Experience

Essential

  • Broad range of post qualifying clinical experience for a minimum of 3 years
  • Extensive experience of teaching, supervising and assessing healthcare students in the practice setting
  • Experience of having worked across professional and organizational boundaries
  • Practical experience of facilitating change
  • Experience of staff management/staff supervision
  • Experience of developing and implementing new systems and procedures
  • Knowledge and experience of the private, voluntary and independent sector

Qualifications

Essential

  • 1st level degree
  • Specialist knowledge of education in practice at Masters level equivalent eg mentorship module at Masters level;
  • Professional qualification, to a minimum of degree level, with up to date professional registration
  • European Computer Driving License
