The Capital Estates & Facilities Portering Department at Broadmoor Hospital, Crowthorne, has a vacancy for a full-time porter, working on a shift pattern across a 7-day week operation. The Portering Team is looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced individual to join a large team dedicated to providing an excellent, comprehensive service to our service users, staff, and visitors. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of goods around the site. A full driving licence is essential, as the role involves the safe use of Trust vehicles.
Main duties of the job
Your role will support the delivery of an efficient, flexible, and customer-focused portering service. This will involve a wide range of duties, including the collection and delivery of post, parcels, and housekeeping stock, transporting gas cylinders and consumable products, food deliveries, waste removal, setting up meeting rooms, medication deliveries, cleaning duties, vehicle inspections, and any other miscellaneous tasks as required. You will be expected to always maintain a professional attitude, with strong communication skills and a team-focused approach when working with Trust staff and colleagues within the immediate team. A full, clean driving licence is essential, along with a willingness to develop skills to operate a range of vehicles. A good understanding of Health & Safety is also required, with the ability to follow instructions and ensure that all Safe Systems of Work are adhered to.
