As a Porter, you will play a vital role in supporting patients, staff and visitors, ensuring a safe, efficient and welcoming environment. You will be part of a busy team responsible for a range of portering and security duties.

About You

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Teamworking ability and a flexible approach
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under direction
  • A pleasant, professional and co‑operative manner when dealing with patients, staff and visitors
  • Willingness to undertake accredited HAC training in medical gases
  • Willingness to complete Level 3 Maybo (or equivalent) restraint training

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide portering and security services — including the safe removal and disposal of waste, and the movement of equipment, documentation and specimens across the site.
  • Work in full compliance with Health & Safety, Infection Prevention, Security and all Trust policies and procedures at all times.
  • Support patients, staff and visitors in a polite, helpful and co‑operative manner, maintaining a professional approach in all interactions.
  • Work flexibly as part of a team, adapting to service needs and responding to requests promptly and safely.
