Spire London East Hospital are looking for an experienced Hospital Porter to provide the highest standards of personal service to patients and staff in all departments and to provide a highly efficient and courteous portering and distribution service throughout the hospital and to work as multi-skilled member of the team providing high level, quality support to he hospital, covering any of the courier, portering, and security duties.

Spire London East Hospital (formerly Spire Roding) is located in Redbridge, on the borders of East London and Essex. We offer comprehensive private hospital services, ranging from outpatient clinics and physiotherapy to surgery and diagnostic tests in a relaxed, clean and comfortable environment.

The hospital has 24 inpatient beds and 16 day case rooms called pods. Facilities include four operating theatres, an endoscopy suite, 2 extended recovery unit, pharmacy, x-ray, outpatient and diagnostic facilities.

Main duties of the job

• To transfer, transport and guide patients safely around the hospital, as required, in a caring, sympathetic and professional manner
• To assist in the safety of patients, staff and consultants
• To collect and deliver clean and dirty linen
• Responsible for the teams safe management of the collection and disposal of waste, both domesticand clinical in line with corporate and hospital policy WM01
• To assist with the general security of the hospital and associated grounds and report any securityproblems to the Senior Management team
• Report any maintenance issues to the Maintenance department via Pirana
• To undertake driving duties as required

• Whilst no formal qualifications are required you must be able to communicate with other members of staff and patients clearly and your personal appearance must be of a high standard, expected in a professional healthcare environment.
• A clean driving licence is essential
• Experience of delivering frontline customer service and working in a similar environment
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Excellent customer care skills
• Ability to work without supervision
• Caring and sympathetic
• Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends
