Join our Hospital team as a Porter, playing a vital role in ensuring patients, colleagues and departments receive the support they need every day. This is a hands-on position where you'll help create a safe, caring and efficient environment by transporting patients, moving essential supplies and supporting the smooth running of hospital services. Main duties of the job

  • Safely and respectfully transporting patients between wards, theatres and departments.
  • Supporting clinical teams with patient transfers and discharge activities.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of specimens, patient equipment, linen and hospital supplies.
  • Managing waste, recycling and linen collections across the hospital.
  • Replenishing departments with essential stock, including linen and gas cylinders.
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety, infection prevention and patient care.
  • Supporting the efficient operation of hospital services through accurate record keeping and teamwork.
  • Assisting with audits, training activities and continuous service improvements.

  • Previous customer service or patient-facing experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a caring and professional approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • A good understanding of health and safety principles.
  • Reliable, flexible and committed to delivering outstanding service.
  • Physically fit and capable of moving patients, pushing loaded trolleys and undertaking manual handling activities.
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute to a high-performing hospital team.
