Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic band 5 Podiatrist to join our team.

The Podiatry service provides multiple care offers to meet the individual needs of the people across the city of Leeds.

We are a community-based service that provides assessment and treatment of foot, ankle and lower limb related problems using diagnostic equipment and treatment packages.

We offer specialist services, including wound care, foot and ankle pain, a foot protection service for people with high-risk feet and nail surgery, We promote health coaching and self- management to empower people to manage their own foot needs.

Our team of Advanced and Specialist Podiatrists and Podiatrists as well as Assistant Practitioners are based in geographical areas across Leeds.

All clinical staff are expected to work in health centers, patients own homes and care homes. The service works closely with other stakeholders and is a research active team collaborating on national research projects. You will use evidence-based practice to formulate, develop and deliver individualised treatment plans in clinics and patients homes.

You will apply appropriate clinical reasoning to manage a varied caseload consisting of high risk, diabetes, wound care and biomechanics patients.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will work to professional and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance always ensuring that their practice is grounded in evidence based theoretical and practical knowledge.

The post includes travel across the NHS Trust carrying a variety of equipment. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you can travel independently across the city.

If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. We are happy to accept final year students who are about to successfully get their HCPC registration.
