Job overview
As the PMO Systems Manager you will be responsible for developing, configuring and administering our project management system, and other related systems, based on Microsoft's Power Platform.
As part of the Trust PMO you will play a vital role in enabling the successful delivery of projects and programmes to improve clinical outcomes, patient experience and staff satisfaction.
Your well designed and implemented Power Platform based tools will reflect NUH's Project Management Policy & Framework and 'influence behaviour', 'inform decisions' and help make 'Every Project Worthwhile!'
Main duties of the job
Systems Management - responsible for managing the development pipeline, system roadmap and operation of all PMO Systems
Power Platform Administration - responsible for the following aspects of developing and administering a Power Platform based system:
Governance & Assurance
Security & Access
Data Structures & Integrity
System environments/platforms Oversight
Development Lifecycle & Change Control & Compliance
Support & Training
Risk & Issue Management & Problem Solving
Analysis & Reporting - responsible for using analysis and reporting functionality, in particular Power BI, from Power Platform based systems
Training - Responsible for developing and delivering user training material in support of the effective use of the PMO Systems
Line Management - Responsible for managing those assigned to the PMO System Admin Team.
Personal Development - Responsible for pro-actively keeping up to date with technical knowledge and skills required to do this job.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Systems Management - responsible for managing the development pipeline, system roadmap and operation of all PMO Systems, including:
NorthStar’ (a PPM Tool), an Equality and Quality Impact Assessment (EQIA) Tool, a Workforce Planning Tool, a Digital Projects request Assessment Tool, a common point of enquiry tool.
Be responsible for the system administration of all Power Platform based tools and any other PMO Systems
Setting the rules for how the platform is used - manage System environments, policies, and standards so things don’t become chaotic.
understand who should have access to what, and ensure data is protected and compliant
manage how data is structured, stored, and used - especially in Dataverse and across integrated systems
keep an eye on what’s running, what’s being used, and what’s breaking -including apps, flows, and connections
understand how the platform connects to other systems to deliver real value
manage how solutions are built, tested, and deployed, so changes do not disrupt the business
Ensuring the platform meets regulatory and organisational requirements
Acting as a bridge between IT, the PMO and the service – developing for users safely without blocking innovation
Being able to quickly diagnose and fix issues when apps, flows, or integrations fail
Analysis & Reporting - responsible for using analysis and reporting functionality, in particular Power BI, from Power Platform based systems, including:
Quality assurance of data
Performance Reporting
Route cause analysis
Process mapping
Requirements capture & solution definition
Portfolio Management processes - project rating & prioritisation
Training - Responsible for developing and delivering user training material in support of the effective use of the PMO Systems, including:
Being part of delivering new starter induction sessions
Lead & provide new user and admin training
Produce training & guidance material and operating procedures
Personal Development - Responsible for pro-actively keeping up to date with technical knowledge and skills required to do this job and gain relevant NUH and Project Management knowledge and Microsoft certifications, e.g.
