Medicine of the Elderly rehabilitation wards in the Royal Victoria Building, WGH

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Physiotherapy Teams in the Western General Hospital.

This post will work alongside physiotherapists in the rehabilitation wards within the RVB (Royal Victoria Building) predominantly providing rehabilitation to frail and often acutely unwell elderly patients. As service needs dictate you may be required to assist in the front door frailty areas, regional infectious disease unit and Gastro-Intestinal wards

Candidates should display evidence of experience of teaching prescribed exercise programmes, gait re-education, general rehabilitation skills and administrative tasks.

The individual must display excellent communication and organisational skills, with an ability to work alone or with others.

Experience of working on wards in an acute hospital setting would be ideal, in particular working with frail elderly people, and acutely unwell patients

Previous experience as a physiotherapy assistant or within the physiotherapy profession would be beneficial.

Physiotherapy Services support staff development through appraisal processes, supervision and CPD opportunities.
