Job summary

To provide physiotherapy intervention to patients referred into the department,prioritise physiotherapy referrals in order to implement effective and timely caseload management and determine clinical diagnosis and provide physiotherapy treatment, developing appropriate packages of care, giving specialist clinical / professional advice to patients, carers and other Health Care Professionals. In addition, provide support and teaching / training to junior staff and students.

Main duties of the job

Undertake comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of patients with a wide variety of physical and emotional needs. To formulate, deliver, review and progress individual treatment programmes, ensuring effective treatment, specialist advice and timely discharge is achieved. Ensure ongoing monitoring of the standard of treatment provided Ensure compliance with all professional, clinical and integrated governance standards and participate in clinical audit and other quality assurance processes Support Physiotherapy Manager in developing all aspects of the department service and training delivery. Engage with Consultants and other referrers to maximise the number of referrals and grow your practice. Utilise working hours with full clinical treatments where possible Where appropriate support external events and clubs to support the Physiotherapy Department's business plan Ensure the procedures for referring patients to and from the clinic are always followed correctly All clinical records are accurately maintained and conform to all legal requirements. To ensure that Clinical Governance and risk management are embedded within daily practice. Provide and receive patient information, ensuring that all patient information is provided, received and recorded in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Spire Policies. Carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post

Able to analyse physiotherapy management problems and identify viable solutions

Able to work as a practitioner in and across multi-disciplinary teams

Able to apply clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes
