An opportunity has arisen within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, for a Physiotherapist to join our specialist Surgical Rehabilitation rotation.
Rotating on 9 monthly basis you will have the opportunity to gain experience within a broad range of clinical areas. These include Trauma, Orthopaedics, Vascular Surgery and community-based services e.g Artificial Limb Appliance Centre, and a community rehabilitation team (VCRS). You must be able to demonstrate the relevant skills, experience and enthusiasm required to work within these clinical areas.
We offer you the opportunity to develop both your clinical and leadership skills and the Physiotherapy department provides full induction, a comprehensive programme of in-service training, regular appraisal and opportunities for development.
You may be required to work your normal contracted hours flexibly in a variety of different working patterns in response to the needs of the service. For example, this could include working their contracted hours as part of a service model that includes extended days/ 7 day job plans.

Main duties of the job
To work alongside members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver physiotherapy services to patients within these specialist clinical areas. This will include patients with multi-pathology and complex need and those with cognitive and behavioural problems.
The postholder will have responsibility for managing their own patient caseload. They will participate in the on-call service (overnight and weekends) where they will work independently, managing the respiratory needs of complex critically ill patients.
In addition, they will provide support for the clinical supervision of physiotherapists, student physiotherapists and support staff.

- HCPC Registration
