Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a par time 15 hours per week Band 6 Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to join our friendly team at Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon Hospital. The post-holder could be based at either Hillingdon or Mount Vernon Hospital depending on days worked but may be required to rotate across site.

The successful candidate will be part of the current Pelvic Health Physiotherapy team which comprises of several part time pelvic health trained staff.

You should have a good base of experience particularly in pelvic health outpatients, to be able to see patients presenting with various pelvic health conditions such as urinary dysfunction, prolapse and pelvic pain, plus experience in ante and postnatal care of patients you should also have a good background knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide specialised assessment and treatment for patients with complex Pelvic Health needs, and to provide expert advice, guidance and information to patients, health and social care professionals, carers and relatives, and other non-professional
  • To work within the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy team which will mainly involve working across the Trust, in the outpatient departments managing patients with various pelvic health dysfunctions/diagnoses but may also need to cover on the maternity wards if required.

  • Degree or equivalent in physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Clinical experience in the NHS ideally or similar health service across a range of settings
  • Evidence of relevant post-graduate courses in the Pelvic Health field, such as POGP courses, Female urinary dysfunction, organ prolapse, complex pelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction etc or similar / equivalent courses
  • good written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of a range of clinical conditions, particularly in relation to Pelvic Health conditions.
  • Understanding of clinical governance and implications for the service

Desirable

  • Member of the CSP
  • Membership of a professional network, National or Regional Network
  • Experience of supervision and education of less experienced staff, students or assistants
  • Attendance at Clinical Educators Course
