We’re looking for an experienced and innovative Senior Physiotherapist for 37.5 hours per week, delivering high quality care within a fast-paced acute setting across ED and Urgent Care.

Main duties of the job

This is a senior therapy post working within Emergency Department and Urgent Care Therapy team.

You will take a lead role in the advanced assessment of patients, who may have complex and/or chronic presentation, to determine, therapy treatment and timely discharge planning.

The post holder will also undertake a coordinating role in the delivery of the therapy service within their specific clinical area on a day-to-day basis and this will include the provision of a 7-day service in our clinical specialities. The post holder will also support junior staff members and students.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Audit

Essential

  • To have the physical ability to carry out the necessary therapeutic handling and highly developed dexterity and coordination for assessment and manual treatments

Experience

Essential

  • Clinical experience at band 5 in core areas of respiratory, musculoskeletal, neurology and orthopaedics

Physical Skills

Essential

  • Basic IT/keyboard skills (2)

Knowledge and Training

Essential

  • Significant post qualification experience in clinical area relevant to post
  • Evidence of post graduate training in specialist clinical area
  • Have an understanding of developments within the NHS and the Trust, and their implication on Therapy
  • Knowledge of evidence based practice

Desirable

  • Other responsibilities e.g. HASAW rep, trade union rep/steward

Qualifications & Education

Essential

  • Degree/Diploma in /Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registered
  • Clinical education training

  • Demonstrates evidence of the ability to use reflective practice as a tools for growth and development
  • Evidence of self-directed learning
