An Exciting Opportunity within Respiratory Medicine
NHS Grampian is seeking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Physician Associates to join our established Respiratory Service and wider Physician Associate workforce. These posts offer an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality care to patients with a wide range of acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
The successful candidates will join an experienced and supportive team of Physician Associates working across NHS Grampian, providing opportunities for peer support, shared learning, professional development and collaborative working. Within Respiratory Medicine, you will work alongside Respiratory Consultants, Specialist Registrars, Physician Associates, Specialist Nurses, Allied Health Professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care across a variety of clinical settings.
The Role
The posts will involve assessment, investigation and management of patients with respiratory conditions including:
- Asthma
- COPD
- Bronchiectasis
- Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD)
- Respiratory failure
- Sleep disorders
- Lung cancer
- Pneumonia and other acute respiratory conditions
You will have opportunities to develop specialist skills within respiratory medicine while maintaining a broad generalist medical knowledge base. The role includes rotational duties across inpatient wards, outpatient services and respiratory diagnostic pathways.

About You
We are looking for individuals who:
- Have completed their Post Graduate Diploma in PA/Associate Studies and have at least one year of experience or have completed their intern year in the NHS.
- Are registered with the appropriate professional body and maintain required continuing professional development.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and team-working skills.
- Are committed to delivering safe, compassionate and effective care.
- Can work flexibly within a busy clinical environment.
- Have an interest in developing specialist expertise in respiratory medicine.
