Phlebotomist

Job summary

We are recruiting for an experienced Phlebotomist.

16 hours per week on a permanent contract, working with our PCN Enhanced Team.

£12.89 hourly rate.

This role will require an Enhanced DBS Clearance. Should you have this certificate as part of the DBS subscription service, we would be happy to accept this providing the original is shown. Otherwise, you will be expected to complete a new application.

As the role involves patient home visits, you are required to be able to drive, own a vehicle for work, and have Business Car Insurance.

Main duties of the job

Main duties and responsibilities (this list is not exhaustive):

-Working in the community with housebound patients under the direction of a qualified nurse.

-To collect venous/capillary blood samples without harm to patient or self by following the phlebotomy standard operating procedures.

-To obtain such blood samples to a standard fit for laboratory testing ensuring collection, maintaining appropriate files and records as required.

- To ensure that all phlebotomy equipment and accommodation is properly maintained and suitable for use.

- To perform basic observations including SATS and BP.

Experience of home visiting is desirable however further training will be provided.

BEC Treatment Centre working out of the Treatment Centre at Shelley Manor Medical Centre supported by GPs, ANPs, Respiratory Nurse and HCAs.

First Contact Physiotherapy Practitioner service.

Digital Lead

Pharmacy team comprising of Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

Mental Health practitioners and Mental Health triage practitioners

Health & Wellbeing Coaches and Social Prescribers
