Job summary

Howard House Surgery is part of Suffolk Primary Care, a group of GP practices delivering patient care across Suffolk. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced pharmacy technician with excellent interpersonal skills, to join our fantastic team at Howard House Surgery in Felixstowe. The vacancy is for 3-4 days a week; however, this may be negotiable for the right candidate. Flexibility is crucial to accommodate training, holidays and occasional sickness.

Main duties of the job

As a pharmacy technician you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to improve the quality and safety of care offered to our patients. You will have regular contact with patients and working alongside pharmacists will help seek to reduce the workload of GP prescribers in practices.

We have an established team with a strong focus on customer service and on developing staff in order to deliver excellent standards of patient care. Person specification

Experience

Essential

  • have strong experience in either a community pharmacy or a primary care setting;
  • be confident in analysing and presenting information to health professionals;
  • have experience of implementing and promoting cost-effective strategies;
  • have the ability to interpret complex clinical information and present it in suitable formats, to a variety of people from professional and non-professional backgrounds.
  • be able to work calmly and professionally as part of a team, with the ability to multi-task.
  • have a strong command of written and spoken English, with an excellent telephone manner.
  • have good time management skills and the ability to follow protocols and/or instruction
  • good attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered pharmacy technician with the GPhC
  • Diploma Level 3 in pharmacy services, or equivalent
