We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly and dedicated team. This is a rotational post providing experience of all aspects of the pharmacy technician role in a hospital environment, including dispensing and preparation of medicines, pharmacy stores and procurement and ward-based technical services.

Summary of most important Experience/Skills/Qualifications required:

BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences / NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent or expected completion of within the next 4 months.

Main duties of the job

Brief Description of the Role: You will play a key role in the provision of pharmacy services helping us to deliver and improve the quality of patient care.

Key elements of the role include:

  • Work as part of the pharmacy dispensary services team in the comprehensive and efficient supply and delivery of medications.
  • Performing accuracy checks on dispensed and ward stock items prepared by other staff
  • Communicate non-complex advice and counselling to patients and carers (in relation to medicines usage)
  • Medicines optimisation on wards including assessment of patients own medicines and medicines reconciliation
  • Ordering and supply of pharmacy stock
  • Homecare processes

The post involves weekend, Bank Holiday and late night rota duties.
