An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, influential pharmacist with advanced clinical expertise to lead the Education and Training Pharmacy Team at St George’s Hospital.

This pivotal leadership role will see you acting as the principal pharmacist for education and training, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and senior leaders to ensure the effective delivery and continuous development of pharmacy education services. You will bring substantial clinical, educational, leadership, and management experience, and play a key role in shaping the future pharmacy workforce. As an integral member of the pharmacy senior team, you will build strong collaborative relationships both within the Trust and externally, including with Higher Education Institutions and regional networks. Main duties of the job

  • Provide strategic leadership for pharmacy education, training, and workforce development •    Lead and manage the Education & Training team, including budget oversight •    Develop and deliver training programmes for pharmacists, technicians, and the wider MDT •    Act as a clinical role model, contributing to frontline services when required •    Establish and lead research, audit, and quality improvement initiatives •    Build partnerships with Higher Education Institutions, NHS networks, and professional bodies •    Support the development of independent prescribers and advanced practitioners •    Lead the pharmacy residency service The successful applicant will be highly organised and capable of managing multiple priorities while delivering to tight deadlines. You will be an enthusiastic and credible educator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence at all levels. You must be able to work both autonomously and collaboratively, demonstrating a high level of accountability and professional judgement. A postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy (or equivalent) and significant hospital pharmacy experience are essential.
