We have an opportunity for Pharmacy Stores Assistants within the Stores team at the Pharmacy department on the North Manchester General Site
Main duties of the job
You will be required to:
assist in the receipt, internal transfer and storage of inward goods by following Good Distribution Practice.
ensure that the stores area of the department is utilised appropriately, is kept clean and tidy, waste medicines and packaging disposed of as per policy and that stock is stored and rotated according to procedure.
assist the Stores Manager and Stores Team Leader to ensure that stock is available for dispensing and the replenishment of wards and departments.
maintain adequate levels of pharmaceutical stocks and be responsible for the notification to pharmacy procurement staff of stock that requires re-ordering.
assist in the effective use of the Automated Stores and Dispensing system (Robot), with regards to input of stock and general housekeeping duties.
ensure competence in Robot ‘Super User’ status is maintained and act as a subject matter expert (SME) in its operation in support of the Dispensary and Stock Replenishment Teams.
work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment
maintain good levels of communication with various people

Knowledge
Essential
- Demonstrable knowledge of a Stores environment or warehouse.
- Knowledge of stock rotation
- Knowledge of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health.
- Demonstrates an understanding of Health and Safety policies and standards.
- Demonstrates manual handling techniques
Experience
Essential
- Experience of a Stores environment or warehouse
- Use of computers and pharmacy systems
- Good housekeeping
Qualifications
Essential
- 2 x GCSE’s or equivalent grade C or above in Mathematics and English or equivalent overseas
Desirable
- Apprenticeship (BTEC and NVQ) L2 in Pharmacy Service, and or demonstrable, relevant experience in a Storekeepers role.
- NVQ L2 in Procurement or equivalent nationally recognised qualification in Procurement or Stores. eg CIPS
