
The father peer support worker role is to work alongside qualified health visitors to ensure that fathers of unborn babies and children to 5 years old are supported to achieve their full potential across north Lincolnshire and Doncaster Areas The post holder is required to inspire the fathers they work with and to encourage self belief that fathers have an important and unique role which contributes to their own care, especially mental health. The father support worker will work with fathers to build positive relationships with their unborn and young children to enable positive physical emotional and social development of their children’s development.
The post holder is required to work with a range of people across the wider multidisciplinary team. They will be expected to attend multi disciplinary team meetings and act as peer support to the father.
They may be required to support fathers who have been perpetrators/recipients of domestic abuse. They will also communicate with other peer support workers in the children's care group, through peer review meetings where progress within the role can be discussed with others in the similar situation.

If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].
