Main duties of the job
- Interpret and action payments of staff additional hours promptly and efficiently in line with current national, local and Statutory guidelines.
- Other calculations and data entry commensurate with skills and experience
- Operating the Computer based payrolling system.
- Checking authorization and accuracy of data
- Assisting with controls to ensure payments have been paid correctly
- Dealing promptly with any discrepancies to ensure the payment deadlines are met
- Maintaining documentation and records pertaining to the pensions and expenses section.
- Investigating and answering queries both verbal and written.

- Interpret and action payments with accuracy and efficiency. Makes decisions around own workload and understands when to highlight problems.
- Understand and complete routine transactions using practical experience.
- Knowledge and awareness of Statutory Requirements
- Experience of computerized payment system
- Experience of dealing with routine enquiries in a confident and sensitive manner.
- Provision of information to managers and colleagues in a confident and sensitive manner.
- Organises allocated workload to meet strict deadlines
- Keyboard skills to achieve input of high quality data with accuracy
- Responsible for the calculation and generation of payments as required.
- Provides support to other members of staff
- Input of financial data into computerized payment system
- Requires long periods of keyboard input of data
- Uses keyboard for a substantial part of the day
- Works within clearly defined policies and procedures with supervision
- Requires periods of concentration to input, check and calculate data and works to strict deadlines.
