We have vacancies for a part time 30 hr per week and a full time 37.5 hr per week. Working pattern: Monday - Friday between 8am & 6pm (shift pattern, - week 1 0800-1600, week 2 1000-1800) including some weekend & BH  Based in Paddington Diagnostic Centre but with shifts in Clatterbridge Liverpool on a rota basis

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Clatterbridge Cancer Centre for a motivated and proactive individual to become part of a busy and friendly appointment team. The role can often be varied and complex but with a high level of job satisfaction.

The role requires the candidate to be a good team player as the successful candidate will be joining a large administration and clerical group with good peer group support. The role will also offer the candidate opportunities to learn new skills within Network Services Division and variety in their day to day activities.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring patients are communicated with in a timely manner. Excellent administration skills, with a good knowledge of Microsoft applications and experience of working with patient records and using multiple hospital databases is advantageous.

Main duties of the job

Scheduling of complex chemotherapy appointments as per protocols

Ensure appropriate administrative actions for clinic outcomes of outpatient and chemotherapy appointments,  and to dispose of appointments with the required time limits to support with the achievement of Key Performance Indicators

Communicate with patients regarding appointments liaising with Clinicians regarding complex cases - via telephone, text service & email and deal with barriers to understanding

Change, amend and cancel appointments at the request of the appropriate teams and patients.

Allow early opportunity to escalate capacity issues in accordance with pathway targets.

Organise interpreters where needed for patient OPD and treatment appointments.

To maintain and improve own skills by undertaking the appropriate training and development opportunities relevant to the post.

Maintain and ensure 100% compliance with all mandatory training using ESR

To participate in all administrative and clerical duties

To maintain confidentiality at all times

To maintain multiple email boxes

To have a knowledge of a range of procedures and appointments across multiple services

Supporting other teams/areas within the Hub
