The Pathology IT Technical Administrator plays a pivotal role in supporting and maintaining the IT infrastructure within Black Country Pathology Services (BCPS). Reporting to the Pathology IT Service Lead, the post holder acts as a lead technical specialist responsible for the day-to-day operation of pathology IT systems, including system integration, troubleshooting, user account management, and helpdesk support.
This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure seamless system upgrades, data integrity, and compliance with Trust policies. The administrator will also contribute to performance monitoring, training delivery, and the development of IT policies and procedures. Flexibility, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders are essential.
The post holder will be a lead technical specialist within Pathology IT. To be responsible for the day to day running of the Pathology IT systems within the Trust and external links to other organisations.
Providing systems support for the Pathology laboratory system. To perform investigation of IT system malfunction, integration support, small systems advice and policies, together with maintaining general housekeeping and providing management of system user accounts & passwords.
Also providing first line helpdesk support to the users of the Pathology systems, this includes the maintenance of the pathology customer relationship management application.
