About the RoleAs a Pharmacy Technician, you will have successfully completed the CPPE pathway or currently be enrolled. In your day-to-day role, you will help ensure the smooth running of general practice by providing expert clinical support and advice to patients, promoting the safe and effective use of medicines, and consistently working within the competencies of your role, with active support from an experienced senior TPN team member and the wider Pharmacy Technician team.

This is an evolving role with continuous scope for development as we expand our pharmacy technician team.

This is a part-time vacancy, looking for someone to work 2-3 days, 15 - 30 hrs a week

Main duties of the job

Job Duties:

  • Medication Reconciliation of clinical letters and Hospital Discharge Summaries
  • Medicine Management including prescription screening and processing
  • Supporting with the Repeat Dispending process
  • Responding and communicating to patient related medication queries
  • Coordinating with local pharmacies to manage stock levels and shortages
  • Medication synchronisation in line with regular repeat prescription
  • To oversee medication recall processes, ensuring timely responses and compliance. (e.g BP, blood tests, annual reviews)
  • Doac Monitoring
  • Prescribing audits in house, plus those associated with CQC/QOF or local incentive schemes as set by the Prescribing Team/ICB (training can be provided)
  • High Risk Drug monitoring,
  • Reviewing existing and new Shared Care Protocols and acting on them appropriately
  • To action medicines safety alerts from CAS/MHRA/ICB
  • To complete Level 1 and 2 Medication reviews (training can be given)
  • Assisting with Pre-SMR (Structure Medication Review) Screening (training can be given)
  • Create and run reports within the practice clinical systems to identify/stratify patients for review
