You will carry out work of routine and non-routine nature as directed by management.

Ensure compliance with Trust Safety Standard and Procedures.

Taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.

Each Painter will have individual responsibilities for defined aspects of the service and will ensure that their contribution is beneficial to other departments within the Trust, as well as the Estates and Facilities Department to fulfill the Trust’s overall objectives.

Main duties of the job

Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to his trade without supervision.

Painting and decorating all hospital property, internally and externally, to acceptable craft standards and using approved methods of working.

Prepare working area in an efficient and organised manner. Removal of all furniture, fittings and fixtures and re-fixing on completion.

Wallpapering (including contract wide width), varnishing, wall washing, application of spray applied finishes

Carry out minor wall repairs such as patch plastering

Grouting and repairing wall tiles, including using sealants

Transportation and erection of scaffolding and access equipment.

Understand fully the inter-relationship between Building and Engineering trades.

Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Therefore, please be advised that if you are a Student visa holder, we will not be able to offer you a full time permanent contract unless you have: - applied for a Graduate visa - or you will have successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment.

All roles in the Trust include a mandatory 12-week training period. Therefore successful candidates are expected to have the Right to Work for a period of at least 6 months from the proposed start date. Immigration and Right to Work status will be discussed with successful candidates at conditional offer. CUH will not offer sponsorship to candidates that have applied for a fee waiver.
